Obituary of James Hirter
Hirter, James "Jim" Walter
Passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his daughter at Henley House on Monday, November 14, 2016, in his 86th year.
James is survived by his sons Michael (Susan), David (Margaret), Kenneth and daughter Wendy McInerney, Grandchildren Alicia, Courtney (Brad), Dylan (Kristal), Chantel (Gussy), Shayne (Jen) and 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter. Also survived by his brother Gerald (Pat) and stepsister Annemarie and numerous extended family members. Jim is predeceased by his beloved wife Olga (2001) granddaughter Amber (2016). A special thanks to his friend Pat Grossi and IIona Thebault for all their help & loving support.
James retired from General Motors in 1991 and made in his home in Barry's Bay with his wife Olga he then returned back to St. Catharines in 2011. James will be remembered for his sense of humor and caring nature.
In accordance with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 12 - 2 p.m. A Celebration of Jim's Life will follow visitation in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke or the charity of your choice.
