Obituary of Maria Di Giorgio

Di GIORGIO, Maria - Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, Novemeber 15th at her residence at the age 86. Beloved wife of Luigi for 65 years. Cherished mother of Alfred ( Erminia ), Olga, Angelo (Susan) and Tony. Loving Nonna of Michael (Alyssa DeLazzari), Julia (Chris Butski), Robbie, Andrew and Eric. Great Grandmother of Lucas. Much loved sister of Oreste and Angela of Italy. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Maria was a member of St. Alfred's Church and the Catholic Women's League. She was a long time member of the church choir. Maria loved spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her love of cooking and working in her garden. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Catharines Hospital Emergency Department, for all of their care and compassion. A special thank you to Dr. H. Kim, Dr. Robert Mackett and all of the Paramed team and the staff of CCAC. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, November 18th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Friday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines on Saturday, November 19th at 9:30a.m. Entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to N.H.S. St. Catharines General Hospital - Emergency Department would be appreciated by the family.
