Obituary of Jan (John) Chmielak

CHMIELAK, Jan (John) - Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Aniela. Cherished father of the late Paul (Pat), Eugenia (James) and John. Loving Dziadek of John, Catherine, Lindsay, Erin, Tamara and Travis. Great Grandfather of Kelsey, Sierra, Josh, Ruby, Audrey, Sophia, Tristan, Deliah, Garret, Dalton, Mia and Lincoln. John was a Master Tailor in St. Catharines and a longtime member of the Polish Legion on Vine Street and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. A sincere thank you to Dr. Luce and all of the staff at Garden City Manor for all of their care and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, November 27th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Funeral Ceremony will take place on Monday, November 28th at 12p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
