Obituary of Engelbert Guggenmoos

Guggenmoos, Engelbert "Bert" (1925-2016) The sad day has arrived. Bert slipped into eternal sleep on December 13, 2016 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Maya for 67 years and loving father of Siegfried (Katharine Weinmann), Erika (Arden) Phair, Imelda (Steve) Malanczuk, Bert Jr. Also missed by Diane Guggenmoos. Cherished Opa of Graham Phair (Beth Wheeler), Brian Phair (Shanna Telcs), Kristen (Derek) Johnson, Naomi Malanczuk (Mike Kerluke), Aaron Guggenmoos (Jessica Brennan), Justin Guggenmoos and Jared Guggenmoos (Orion Addis), Lindsy Guggenmoos, and great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Ashton Johnson. Survived by his siblings Karl Guggenmoos and Resi Bernhart in Germany. Predeceased by sons Werner (1994) and Fred (1987), and brother Alois (1940). He absolutely loved his chosen career as a farm machinery mechanic and had a difficult time leaving it, even after retirement. He continued going on private service calls until the age of 80. He enjoyed travelling south in the winter and "home" to visit family in the summer. Friends and family will be welcomed at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will take place at 8:00pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be offered at STAR OF THE SEA CHURCH, 34 Elgin St., at 10am on Saturday, December 17, 2016, followed by interment at PLEASANTVIEW MEMORIAL GARDENS. Memorial donations to the Rankin Cancer Run or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
