Obituary of Eileen Douglas
Douglas, Eileen 1931-2016
We are very sad to announce that Eileen has lost her long and courageous battle with cancer. She was so tough and humorous throughout her battle that we could not be any prouder of a woman on this earth. She was the loving Wife and life partner of 65 years to Porky, and an always loving Mom to Terry & Dianne and Kelly & Cindy. Affectionately known as Luvy, she will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Dan, Mike & Janice and Courtney. Predeceased by her son Kelly, parents Austin and Edna, sister Barb and daughter-in-law Dianne. Also, a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Our thanks to all of our family and friends for your great support, visits and best wishes throughout Eileen's long journey.
Special thanks to the staff, nurses and volunteers at Hospice Niagara. You are all amazing at what you do. It is just unbelievable how you can all make a resident, family and friends feel like they're at home and are a part of your family, As she dictated to us in her Thank You card to you all last week before she passed, you were, in her words, her "Dream Team", and we all feel the same way. You are all a blessing to this community and we will never forget you and how you took care of "our girl". God Bless You All.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. At Eileen's request, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration will be held. Donations would be greatly appreciated in her honour to Hospice Niagara
