My sincerest sympathies to Melody, Erin and all the family. My memories of Jim, Paul and parents Bud and Connie go way, way back to my youth in St. Catharines and the many times and occasions they and my family shared at the family home on South Drive and other locales as well. An anecdote: when I moved to (North) Toronto 40 years ago Jim told me that I absolutely had to try out "The Steak Pit" on Avenue Rd. -- I did and it's still their and every time I drive by it I am reminded of Jim's mention of it. Memories are golden and I hope you all treasure yours!

To the family:
I feel very sad to read of Jim's death last week. He lost the battle that he fought for many years. Both my wife Jacquie and I have always appreciated Jim's humour, outlook on life and his commitment to Rotary. Jim was a key person in beginning my education about Our Rotary Foundation as he and Alex Elliott invited me to their Permanent Fund planning sessions. I was really pleased top have the opportunity to thank Jim for that assistance at the Foundation dinner two or three years ago.
Unfortunately we are out of the country and unable to join you in your remembrances of Jim on Friday.
Sincerely
PDG Art Wing and Jacquie

Jim was a great friend and a very giving man. His tireless work for the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore and the Rotary Foundation over his many years as a member was of great benefit to many in the community and around the world - even when he was not well, he was still thinking of others.
My condolences to Melody, Erin and the family. Jim, you will be sorely missed.

Dear Melody: Jim's many talents included his humour and market wisdom as well as a keen perception of the variegated investment philosophy of his Lamplighters colleagues. He will be deeply missed ; we mourn his passing ; we celebrate his life; he is now at peace. Bruce Lennox MD President-elect Lamplighters 2017.
