Obituary of Luciano Verardo

VERARDO, Luciano - Passed away peacefully with family at his side on October 15, 2011 at the age of 78. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Anna Maria (2009). Cherished father of Licia (Allan), Dilva (Edgar) and Andy. Special grandfather of Monica (Carl), Cameron and Jerrod. Luciano will be forever remembered by his extended family and many friends. Predeceased by his brothers John and Tony. Luciano was a dedicated family man, who was proud of his Canadian and Italian heritage. He enjoyed his time working with General Motors, retiring after 34 years. Luciano was a well respected, active member and volunteer of Club Roma, holding numerous positions, giving over 45 years of service. Other passions of his life were oil painting and gardening.Special thanks to the staff of D.H. Rapelje Lodge for their care and compassion, as well as his "special angels." Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 595 Carlton Street on Tuesday October 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday in the chapel at 11 a.m. with entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by his family.
