Obituary of Nicola Riganelli
RIGANELLI NICOLA (Nick) Passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 14th, 2011, at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Marisa for 51 years. Loving father of Claudio (Cecilia) and Luciano (Paula). Devoted Nonno of Nicole, Patrick, Daniela and Michelle. Dear brother of the late Mario and Savina Riganelli, Rita and the late Joseph Patrick, the late Antonietta and Silvio Bisci, Ida and the late Nazzareno Riganelli, Gino and Lucy Riganelli. Dear brother in law of John and Anita Pierosara. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Nick was born in Cerreto d†™Esi, Ancona, Italy in 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1949. Nick and his brothers owned and operated Riganelli's Bakery from 1957- 1999. He was one of the early members of Club Roma and will always be remembered for his contributions to the Club Roma Wolves Soccer team. He made certain that the players were always well fed on road trips with fresh sandwiches and cold beer. Nick was a dedicated parishioner and usher at St Alfred's Church, and a member of the Mount Carmel Feast Committee.
Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church 272 Vine St. on Monday at 11:00 a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
