RODE, Rose

Passed away, after a short fight with cancer, with her family by her side on Sunday, June 18th, 2017 at the age of 92. Wife of 68 years to the late Otto (2014). Mother of Richard (Hilda) and Michael (Rina). Grandmother of Gordon (Jennifer), Kenneth (Vanessa) and Katie; great-grandmother to Victoria, Mathew, Makayla and Abby. Rose will also be remembered by her siblings Clifford (the late Glenna) in Sechelt B.C, Natalie (Vic) in Ancaster, Dianna and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Alice, Edward, Albert and Joyce. Rose grew up in Saskatchewan and moved to St. Catharines with her family in 1950. Special thanks to the Oncology Staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their exceptional support and care. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, June 22nd from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. A Celebration of Rose's Life will take place following the visitation at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial to take place following the service at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 Highway 20, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society or Grace Lutheran Church.
