SETO, Lily

Surrounded by her loving family, Lily Seto died peacefully on Saturday July 1, 2017 at the Meadows of Dorchester – Niagara Falls, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Soo (2016). She will be deeply missed by her daughter Vicki (Chris) and sons Ted and Rick (Maria); her granddaughters, Sydney, Abigail and Olive and her mother-in-law, Ho Sin Yu. Lily will be remembered by her brother-in-law Wai Yin Seto, sisters-in-law Hing Szeto and So-Wah Seto Chu (Kui Sing); her nieces Marion (Chuyow) and Jean Seto (Sam) and nephews Michael Chuyow (Marlene), Francis Chuyow.

Lily was born in Guangzhou, China in 1949, and immigrated to Canada in 1967 to marry the love of her life, Soo. Lily from the start was a go getter. When Lily arrived in Canada, she took English classes so she could learn to communicate with everyone around her. As her children started to grow up, Lily started working in Chinese restaurants with her cousin Amy Seto and ended her restaurant career at Fallsview Casino. Lily was always outgoing, chatty and curious.  Her many Shining Star Awards received while working at the casino was a testament to her hard work and her character. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, July 7 from 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Lily's life will take place on Saturday, July 8 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
