Obituary of Regina Bis
BIS, Regina
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Hotel Dieu Shaver in her 89th year. Beloved mom of George (Joanne) and Danuta (Jake Callihoo). Dear Babcia of Emily (Rob Horne), Simon and Samantha. Regina will be dearly missed by all her brothers and sisters, Jessie Jedrzejewski, Irene Krawczyk, Helen Sokoluk, Joseph (Mary) Kacprzak, Christine (Guy) Rioux, and George (Betty) Kacprzak. Dear Ciocia of her many nieces and nephews. Loving friend and companion of the late Ed Barevich. Born in Krasnodeby, Poland on August 14, 1929, Regina and family were displaced during WWII, working at several camps and farms. At the young age of 18, Regina travelled alone to Canada. It was not a pleasant voyage. After arriving in Montreal, she worked extremely hard and scrimped and saved to enable her family to join her. We will always admire her courage, independence and strong faith. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, August 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate St, St. Catharines on Monday, August 28 at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to Hotel Dieu Shaver - Palliative Care would be appreciated by the family.
