Obituary of Maria Foschini

FOSCHINI, Maria D’Aria

Passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in her 92nd year.  She is now reunited with her beloved husband Vittorio Giovanni. Cherished mother of Roseanne (Kevin) McKeen, Ben (Bonnie), Teresa (Ron, 2006) Krawec and Michael (Mary). Proud Nonna of eight grandchildren and their spouses and eight great grandchildren. Dear sister of Evelina in Italy and sister-in-law to Maria D’Aria, Giuseppina and Filomeno, Renato and Teresa. Maria is survived by many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Italy. She will also be missed by her furry companions J.J. and Mya.

Predeceased by her siblings Vincenzina, Onorata, Ida and Vincenzo.

Maria was a very hard worker, starting as a young girl until she retired at the age of 65.

A very special thank you to Maria’s PSW, from ParaMed, Luz “Louisa” Makimkim (so special that she was like a 3rd daughter) of 11 years for her excellent care and support. We would like to thank Deirdre, the Palliative Team and Dr. Yu.

Maria’s family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be recited at 8pm at the funeral home on Monday.  The Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be celebrated at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 12:00 p.m.  Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
