Obituary of Joseph Szabo
SZABO, Joseph (Joe)- Passed away peacefully at Tabor Manor on September 9, 2017 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of over 67 years of Theresa. Loving father of Joe (Susan), Betty (Jim) and Sylvia. Dear brother of Tony (Kathy) and George (Melitta). Predeceased by his sister Anna in Germany. Otta will be missed by grandchildren Ben and Kimberly. Joe was a proud GM employee for 26 years and a hardworking Niagara fruit farmer well into retirement. A renaissance man in every respect who built his own house, had endless talents including beekeeping, welding, carpentry, fixing every contraption possible and the list goes on. He had a passion for reading and learning about the world. All those whose lives he touched will remember him for his zest and philosophies of life. Special thanks to the staff of Tabor Manor for their caring and compassion. The family will receive visitors from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the George Darte Funeral Chapel at 585 Carlton St. The service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 12 pm at the George Darte Funeral Chapel. A reception with light refreshments to follow. If desired, donations can be made to The Pleasant Manor and Tabor Manor Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Walker Family Cancer Center.
