Obituary of Brian Douglas Jones
JONES, Brian - Honoured by his love and grateful for his memories. Brian Jones’ family announces with deep sadness his passing on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Left to remember and treasure Brian’s life are his devoted and caring wife of 44 years, Joanne: Children Rebecca (husband Matt) and Trevor (wife Ashley). Remembered by his siblings: Debbie, Gale, and Wendy. Brian was predeceased by his mother, Thelma, father Frank, brother Bruce and sister Judy. Brian was born in Hamilton, Ontario on January 16th, 1952. He will be fondly remembered and cherished for his sense of humour, and his kind hearted and gentle nature. As a young man, Brian played the drums in the Argyles with his brother Bruce. He later played live gigs in Fonthill, and with the Hamilton Firefighters Marching Band. Brian had a strong appreciation for music and loved listening to many different genres. He also loved computers, technology, and new software. Family gatherings always contained time for “a show” at his computer station, featuring the latest and greatest computer games. His greatest joy was raising his children and providing support and encouragement every step of the way. Brian suffered many health issues over the years but did not let them affect his personality or get him down. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME at 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, September 15 with visitation from 10 am - 12 pm followed by a service at 12 pm Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
