It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Carpenter in his 76th year on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the NHS- St. Catharines Site after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband to Mary Ann for 52 years. Loving father to Julie (Dave), Shawna (Paul) and Greg (Justine). Cherished Grandpa to Evan, Paige, Garrett, Reid, Tate, Cole and Brooke. Predeceased by his granddaughter Caitlin. He will be dearly missed by his sister Mary Jane, brothers Garry and Michael and all his extended family. John enjoyed his career as a professional accountant. He was very proud of his family. He loved spending time with them at home as well as at the cottage. A thank you to all the Nurses and Doctors at the hospital for all their wonderful care. In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church, 303 Niagara St., Welland, on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. A private family Inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joseph Brant Hospital – Pediatrics Department.
