Obituary of Stanislaw Sotola

SOTOLA, Stanislaw

Our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 with his family at his side. Born in Zbydniow, Poland, on November 8, 1926 and immigrated to Canada in 1963, settling in St. Catharines, where he was joined by his family in 1964. Stan worked for the Ontario Paper Co. in Thorold until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the Canadian Polish Society, where he was bestowed a Lifetime Membership. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Emilia (2001). Survived by his children Antoni (Haline), Barbara, Anna Jagodzinski (Richard) and Mark (Christine); dearest Dziadzi of nine grandchildren: Christopher (Lisa), Ryan (Cassidy), David (Sarah), Allison (Mike), Andrea (Darcy), Paul (Allison), Robert, Alexandra and Gabrielle; and Pra-Dziadzi to seven great-grandchildren: Mia, Weston, Pierson, Charlie, Nova, June and Madison. Stan will also be fondly remembered by his cherished niece, Sophie (Henry). Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, October 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate St., St. Catharines on Friday, October 6, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Warehouse of Hope or to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Building Fund.
