I'm saddened by this news, I was just thinking of Arnie watching an old lacrosse video and thought I would look him up. He was quite a character at Fort Erie Racetrack and will be missed. Great guy, a lot of fun and a strong family man. My condolences to the family. Justin J. Nixon

It was great knowing Arnie. Not unlike many, he was to me as my father was to me. Living in Arnie's world was the era I knew as a kid. Memories forever....thank you, Arnie. The best to you boys (and families); always fun sharing the ice.

I met Arnie through Old Timers Hockey. He was the vocal Bench Boss barking at anyone and everyone. Never shy to let you know how he felt about how you played, the effort you made or any other matter that came to his mind. I have know Arnie and Gail for over 40 years. And what a sweetheart Gail. I loved Arnie as a very good friend. I and his legion of friends will miss him. To his three boys, Arnie's grandchildren, and family I extend my sincere condolences. He lived a good life and made a mark. Rest in peace my friend.

Arnie,
I enjoyed our discussions at the hockey rink. I am sure now in some other way you will be at the hockey game, sitting watching and giving your opinions on things in our world.
I enjoyed with a chuckle waiting to see what kind of hat you would show up with. The hat was often all that was needed for us to start talking and story telling. Good times they were.
My friend, rest well,
Joel

The Horn No More!
As teenagers we would be mortified that Uncle Arnie would start blowing his car horn from the top of Dorothy street to our house. Most times we would run for cover. The horn we knew meant they were late for the first race in Fort Erie and my Dad(Harry) better get a move one. Although Harry had been out on the porch for hours. No secret Uncle Arnie kept his own time. A true friend to my father and the end of an era. Through good and bad times they stuck together. Rest peacefully.
Our condolences to all the families.
Love Dan, Tracey(Krekorian), Daniel and Samantha

With Heartfelt Sympathy
Posted by Nancy Natale (Family Friend) On Friday, November 17, 2017
On behalf of my dad (Stan Golenia) who is too ill to attend;as well as the rest of our family, please allow me to express our deepest sympathy to the three of you, John, David and Michael, on the loss of your father. Your dad was a great friend to my Dad, for most of their lives. Arnie was a great man who loved his family and friends. He could have a gruff exterior but underneath, a heart of gold. I have great respect for him visiting my dad daily in the nursing home until he was no longer physically able to do so himself. Rest in peace Arnie. You really will be truly be missed.

I am so lucky that I had Arnie and Gail in my life. At first...he kind of terrified me. But he was the most generous and loyal man who raised 3 amazing boys. Family always came first and in Arnies family, there was always room for more. Boys...keep making your Dad proud...B

I will miss Uncle Arnie, he always called my Mom his sister, she babysat him growing up, after Dad died, he would pick her up every Thursday and take her and Aunt Gail all over the Region to find the best deals-My Mom looked forward to every Thursday and her outings with them. He helped a lot of people, and I enjoyed his sense of humour and the advice he would give me after Dad died. He gave a beautiful speech to honour my Mother at her funeral, I will never forget that. John, David, Michael, we were so fortunate to have the parents we had-I wish you Grace and Courage during this most difficult time.
