Obituary of Lorraine Baranek
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lorraine Baranek on Tuesday December 5th in her 68th year. Daughter of the late John (2007), and Mary (2017). Beloved sister of Richard, John, Caroline, Christopher, Francine, Stanley, the late Daniel (1998) and Baby (1956). Adored Ciocia of Adrian, Katrina, Jonah, Daniel and Megan, great Ciocia of Autumn. Predeceased by John Krawtchuk. Survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as those who have gone before her. Lorraine was born in St. Catharines, Ontario and moved to Pickering in 1990 where she was employed at OPG as a nuclear operator. Upon her retirement in 2015 Lorraine moved back to St. Catharines. Lorraine was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church, was a volunteer at the Ozanam soup kitchen in 2016, and most recently was a volunteer at Branches Catholic book store where she also taught classes. Lorraine was a great cook, could knit or crochet a blanket in a day, and had impeccable sewing skills. Lorraine will always be remembered for her love of family, generosity, and strong and unwavering faith, always following where the truth led her. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I accept from your hands whatever kind of death it may please you to send me today (tonight), with all its pains, penalties, and sorrows in reparation for my sins, for the souls in purgatory, for all priests and religious, for the conversion of sinners, for all those who will die today (tonight), and for Your greater glory. Amen.
You are near even if we don't see you,
You are with us even if you are far away,
You are in our hearts, in our thoughts, in our life always.
Give rest, O Christ, to your servant Lorraine.
