It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Stella Nitsopoulos, on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Peter (2008) and loving mother to Chris (the late Gina), John (Mary Margaret), Angelo (Mary), James (Ann Marie) and Peter (Susann). Cherished Baba to 15 grandchildren: Perry (Elaine), Margy (Steve), Adrian, Stephanie (Dave), Natalie (Brandon), Michael (Tia), Tom (Anna), Jennifer (Matt), Stelly (Greg), Amy (Harry), Jamie (Peter), Dimitri, Isabella, Nicholas (Jennifer) and Argentina. Proud great-grandmother to 21 great-grandchildren: Jeneva, Christian, Nathan, Olivia, Emma, Alex, Keenan, Khloe, Elliana, Grayson, Leo, Carter, Mya, Sasha, Chloe, Jackson, Ella, Logan, Brayden, Sage and Jade. Stella will also be forever remembered by her siblings Marika (Vasili), Stavre (Anna), and predeceased siblings, Kalipsa (the late George), Seka (the late Pantelis), Slavka (the late George) and the late Pavlos (the late Zaka). With her wonderful spirit and zest for life, Stella loved being surrounded by her family and friends. We will never forget her favourite saying, “Happy, happy, happy, love you, love you, love you, butterfly nah baba”. Stella’s family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 12:30-9pm. Macedonian Prayers will be held at 1 p.m. and Greek Prayers at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Divine Liturgy to be celebrated at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 11:30am. Burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Stella may be made to the Niagara Health System or Hotel Dieu Shaver Rehab Centre.
