Obituary of Pauline Marino
MARINO, Pauline (nee Lindo)
Passed peacefully in her 91st year at the NHS – St. Catharines Site after a brief illness. Loving wife to the late John (2015). Adored mother of Rick (Rose), Len (Diane), Jim (Allison) and honorary son Mike (Nancy). Cherished grandmother of Kevin, Jennifer (Yanick), Jay (Meredith), Jenna (Devin) and Paris; proud “GG” to John-Ferris and Ruby. Also survived by sister-in-law Mary Campbell and special niece Rose Day (Fraser). Pauline will also be dearly missed by her many other nieces, nephews and close friends in Canada and Jamaica. Predeceased by her siblings Freda, Cissy (Julio), Joyce (Jack) and Herbert.
Considered by her family as being “The Original Working Mom”, Pauline held a number of progressively responsible jobs in the Niagara area including Legal Secretary, Assistant Executive Director at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, completing her working career as a Justice of the Peace for the Ministry of the Attorney General. Pauline was proud to become the first female member of the St. Catharines Club.
Family, friends and guests are welcomed to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, January 28, 2018 for public visitation from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 80 Main St., Port Dalhousie on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00am followed by interment at the St. John’s Cemetery.
Donations to St. John’s Anglican Church in Port Dalhousie or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Pauline’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors and staff at NHS – St. Catharines Site for their incredible care and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Rabin, regarded by the family as a patient’s best friend.
