It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Doreen who passed away on January 26, 2018 in her 84th year. Loving mother of Darren (Leslie). Adoring Grandy of Emily (Ken) and Mackenzie. Survived by her brother Donald (Doris) Obee and son-in-law Rick. She will be lovingly remembered by her many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Howard (1991), son Scott, brothers Thomas and Jack, and sister Margery (Albert) Bowden.
Doreen worked at Empire Life Insurance and was a dedicated volunteer at Linhaven Long-Term Care. She will be greatly missed by her many friends at St. Giles Presbyterian Church where she was an active member for over 60 years. She served as Worship Leader, a member of the choir and volunteered on many committees. Her children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She loved being Grandy and leaves them all with happy memories. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Linhaven for showing such kindness to Doreen during her time there.
Family, friends and guests are welcomed to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, February 4, 2018 for a public visitation from 1:30-4pm, followed by a Memorial Service in the funeral home ceremony room at 4:00pm. Memorial Donations made to Friends of Linhaven would be appreciated by the family.
