Dear Tonton George,
You have always been in our lives.
It was wonderful growing up with you and Tatan!
You always treated us kids! Boating with friends, horseback riding, fishing. The best tradition was driving to see the ships going through the locks and then afterwards going to Avondale’s ice creamery!
You always stressed the importance of education, for us and for our kids.
We will always remember the way that you answered the phone with a quick “Ello-Ello!” You enjoyed hearing all about how our boys were doing at the soccer fields, at school, and how tall they were growing. You always wanted to know about the family and how everyone was doing?
You’re a very lucky man. You have lived a long life. You enjoyed fishing, traveling in the motor home, eating at the restaurants, ordering chunks of kielbasa with your hands out wide saying “I want this much!” You had your workshop in the back and did some wood-working for a few years. It was nice stuff! You prided yourself with a beautiful vegetable garden every year. You and Tatan worked very hard tending to it and we all enjoyed those vegetables.
And at the end of the day, you enjoyed relaxing downstairs with your big tv!
Despite the occasional arguments, you and Tatan were married for 62years! Amazing! You both loved each other and it showed.
Nathan says that he loves you very much and that seeing your face always made him smile!
Devon says that he will always love you and sends you a big hug!
As we struggle and adjust to not having you physically here, please know that we love you so very much and we will miss you.
And we will always hear you “playing with your organ” downstairs!
With love,
Valerie, John, Devon, and Nathan Terry
