Obituary of Susan Secord (nee Charkowy)

Secord, Susan (nee Charkowy) - Passed away after a short battle with cancer at Hospice Niagara on April 25, 2018 at the age of 58 with her loving family present. Predeceased by her husband Ken  (October 2017)  of 39 years and brothers Rick (April 2011) and Ron (September 2008). Beloved mother to Shane (Christina) and the late Philip (August 2017) (Amberley). Cherished Gramma to Ellie, Hunter and McKenna.  Devoted sister to Dave (Kathy) Charkowy. Survived by her mother-in-law Marjorie, brother-in-law Bill (Ingrid) and sister-in-law Linda (Walt) Klassen. Will be fondly remembered by her many loving family members and close friends. Sue was employed for almost 24 years at General Motors. She welcomed with open arms the new kids at G.M. and treated them like a second mother who was strong and loyal and never let them get pushed around. Sue was very generous to family, friends and anyone within the community that needed help. Sue was the happiest when she was with her friends, family and especially her grandkids.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday May 9, 2018 between 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday May 10, 2018 at 3 pm with visiting an hour prior to. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara in Sue's honour.
