Obituary of James (Jim) Joseph Jaski
JASKI, James (Jim) - Passed away on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 at the Hotel Dieu- Shaver Hospital at the age of 89. Beloved husband to the love of his life, Kessy for 67 years. Cherished father of Jennifer (David) McPherson, Jonathan (Amanda) Jaski, Janette (Jim) Nottrodt and Julianne (Paul) Rogers. Predeceased by his son Jay (2007). Loving Papa of Jason, Elizabeth, Jessica, Alicia, Stuart, Jordan, Christine, Jenna, Rachel, Jaclyn, Benjamin and Mary Olivia. Super Papa of 13 great grandchildren. Dear father in law of Liz Cryer and Barbara Charlebois. Jim retired after 37 years of working at St. Catharines Hydro. As a devout Catholic, he was an enthusiastic volunteer at St Alfred's Church for 60 years. Jim was an avid gardener and fisherman who always kept active with running and other activities. As an orphan at age 15, family was extremely important to Jim. Cremation has taken place. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all of the staff at the Hotel Dieu –Shaver and the St Catharines Hospital for all of their care and compassion. Jim's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Thursday, May 3rd from 2-4p.m. & 6-8p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Thursday at 7p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines on Friday, May 4th at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Jim's favourite charities, the Out of the Cold Program or the St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. Alfred's Church).
