After a valiant battle, Jadwiga passed away at Amica at Newmarket Retirement Home on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Stanislaus (1989). Loving mother of Stan (Wendy), Teri (Brian) Howieson and the late Lillian Segodnia (1998). Cherished Babcia to Renee (Don), Erica (Todd), Lisa (Jeff), Chris (Lauren), Nadia (Mike) and Daniel (Michelene). Much loved great Babcia to 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Jadwiga was a resident of St. Catharines for over 30 years. She was a proud member of the Polish community and President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Canadian Polish Legion. Jadwiga was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Special thanks to the staff at Amica for their sincere care and support over the time Jadwiga was a resident. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, July 13 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home ceremony room at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
