McLEAN, Antoinette “Toni” (nee Cutrara)
Passed peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday August 20th, 2018. Rock and sunshine to her husband Bruce (Ted) for 43 years. Toni is survived by her mother Rosalie and has joined her beloved father Salvatore in Heaven. Devoted mother to Vicki (Scott) Keen and Catherine. Special Nonni to her “Honey Bear” Alyssa and “Snuggle Puppy” William. Loving sister to Vincent (the late Bette), Beth (Vic), Theresa (Anton). Predeceased by Salv Jr. and Victoria. Toni will be remembered by family and friends for her generosity, kindness, and selflessness. She was a cherished friend to many, and was always up for coffee, lunch, and laughs with friends.
Born and raised in Toronto, Toni settled in St. Catharines after attending U of T to pursue work as a social worker. As a wife, mother and “Nonni”, she was cherished for her unconditional love and support toward her family. At the skating rink, the ball diamond and the pool – she was her daughters’ #1 fan, always encouraging them to reach their full potential. As a couple, Toni and Ted, “TNT75”, enjoyed time spent at Blue Jays games, concerts, musicals, and in their backyard garden. Toni's gestures and expressions of love for Ted will forever be felt in his heart. She brought tremendous joy to others – she loved a good joke and seat-dancing to music was a “must” as a driver for the neighbourhood carpool. Toni was also a trusted friend and confidant who would pick others up when they were down. For the last 10 years, Toni was a dedicated employee at Costco Wholesale, St. Catharines, where she was recognized by staff and Members for her enthusiastic and pleasant approach. Toni was also passionate about literacy, giving countless hours of her time to various volunteer literacy initiatives for adults and children in her community.
Family and friends are welcomed the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines for visitation on Sunday August 26th, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church on Monday August 27th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations made to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by Toni’s family.
A most sincere and heartfelt thank you to Dr. W. Lucey, the staff at NHS – St. Catharines and Walker Family Cancer Centre for their outstanding and compassionate care. Moreover, the McLean family would like to extend their appreciation to the collective staff at Costco Wholesale, St. Catharines, Hotel Dieu-Shaver Health & Rehabilitation Centre, Grand Erie District School Board, Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, as well as friends and family near and far for their incredible love, compassion, and support throughout the past several months.
