Obituary of Mary Ann Sylvester (nee Halsall)

Sylvester, Mary "Tweets" (nee Halsall) - Slipped comfortably back into the arms of Mr. S with her loving family at her side at Hospice Niagara on August 30, 2018 at the age of 75. Predeceased by her devoted husband Bob Sturt of 37 years, her parents Eric and Eirwen Halsall. Beloved mother to Todd (Douglas), Bradley (Kelly) and Jason (Helene), Tracie (Joe) Gallant and the late Bob Jr. Sturt. Cherished Nana Schooz to Chantelle (Ted), Madyson, Noah, Morrigan, Braden, Spencer and Taryn. Great Nana Schooz to Raidyn. Will be fondly remembered by her sister Margaret (Gary) Broda, niece and nephews Gwen (Mark), Dylan (Henna), Sean (Laura), Drew (Steph) and Sebastian (Sydney) and great nieces and nephews, family members and close friends. Mary was devoted and most passionate about her family and friends. She was a past president of St. Catharines Minor Hockey Association; avid bingo player; #1 Toronto Blue Jays fan and the best pastry maker. Mary's infectious smile, bright blue eyes and fiesty red hair will be sadly missed. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude and thanks to Dr. Kerley, Tina Van Egmond and all the "angels" at Hospice Niagara that cared for our mom.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home, 905-937-4444. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Hospice Niagara, 403 Ontario Street on Saturday, September 15 between 1-4 pm. Eulogy at 2:00 pm. In Honour of Mary guests, are invited to wear their Blue Jays attire. Parking at the back and west side of Church of Christ, which is located at the corner of Ontario Street and Royal Henley Drive. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara in Mary's honour.
