CASCIATO, Michael - Passed away with his wife by his side on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at his residence at the age of 71.Dear husband of Jane. Cherished father of Tina (Sean Gray) and Amy (Chad Gray). Loving Grampa of Sloane and Dylan. Will be sadly missed by sister Dora (Bruce) Ruch, brother Rick Casciato, sister in law Gail (Jeff) Meyer, his nephews Michael and John (Terri) Ruch, many cousins and very close friends. Predeceased by parents Angelo and Concetta.Mike will be remembered for his great sense of humour and relaxed, easy going attitude.His favourite thing was golf. He was a member of the Twenty Valley Golf & Country Club for over 40 years, often playing several times per week. Mike was also an avid bowler and spent many years coaching youth hockey for Legion/Kiwanis. He was a lifelong fan of all Toronto sports teams. Mike worked at General Motors from the time he was 21 and retired after 34 years. He attended St. Alfred’s church and was an usher at the Saturday night mass.Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME,585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, September 27th from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Thursday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines on Friday, September 28th at 2p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
