Obituary of Salvatore Marano
Marano, Salvatore "Sam" - Passed away peacefully at Tabor Manor on September 24, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Loving husband to Rita (nee Spadafora) for 50 years. Beloved Papa to Salvatore Jr. (Patti), son-in-law Dennis Bausch, Tony, Rosella and their families. Cherished Nonno to Houston, Salvatore III, Bryan (Rachel) Bausch, Kristy Bausch and Lily. Bis Nonno to Payton, Taylor, Brooklyn and Liam. Beloved brother to Antoinette (Nicola) Alaimo, Josephine (Joe) Mazza, sisters-in-law Domenica, Lucia, Rosa, many loving family members and close friends. Predeceased by his sister Vincenzina (Frank) DeCaro and brothers Angelo, Gaetano, Nicola and daughter Julia Bausch. He was very dedicated to his family, friends and work and made sure that he was able to provide and support them as best as he could. When Sam was not working, he would be found in his garden and making sure the cantina was full to share with family and friends. He was truly a great husband, father, Nonno and Bis Nonno and will be sadly missed by all. The family want to extend their sincere thanks to all the staff at Tabor Manor for the wonderful care provided to Sam.
All are invited to visit with the Marano family at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street between 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday with vigil prayers at 3:30 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, on Friday at 11 am. Burial will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
