My name is Shannon and I was a member of Ian and Maisie's church in Newbury Ontario in the 1980's. I was just made aware of his passing today and am sorry for your loss! Ian and Maisie were a tremendous help to me in my teenage years! I will always be thankful for their friendship and spiritual mentoring! Our loss is heaven's gain!

It was such a pleasure to know Ian, even if for a shorter time. I am a member of Cornerstone where Ian worshiped in his last years. He often felt limited by his aging body, but he sure had a youthful spirit. The shine in his eyes let you know he loved Jesus with all his heart. May he rest in peace with his Saviour!

Our condolences to your family. Mark and I enjoyed getting to know Ian and Maisie at OP and later at Cornerstone. He was a person who we always enjoyed talking to, he made us feel welcome and important. His love for the Lord was so evident. Ian certainly leaves a beautiful legacy behind. We are sad to no longer live close enough to attend the funeral but pray blessings and peace on your family as you remember a great man.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Buist family. Ian was a wonderful man, a sweet man and a man who was always willing to listen to the heart of another. He lovingly shared his wisdom with us over the years and our lives are the richer for it. He will be greatly missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.

Heartfelt sympathy on your loss of a very special gentleman, your father, grandfather and great grandfather. We have fond memories of the times we spent with him and Maisie, and then with him alone especially during the last few weeks of challenges. He was a joy to visit, quite a feisty and determined man. We will miss him. But are thankful that his struggles are over and that he is in a better place. Love and prayers.

To the Family of this wonderful man:
yes indeed Mr. Buist will be missed by many, especially here at Pleasant Manor.
I remember him and his wife when I worked at the NOL library. They were always gracious, patient and so thankful. Years later I also moved to PM. He was the chairman of the Tenant Council for many years. He welcomed me to that group, - again always helpful and calm. He spoke, so well, at the general meetings of PM and easily mingled with everyone. He was such an inspiration to me, especially when the council meets we remember his wise leadership.
with sincere sympathy from Ingrid
