Obituary of Wilma Swann
Swann, Wilma Elizabeth
(n©e Patterson)
Passed away peacefully at Henley House on January 2, 2012 in her 85th
year. Wilma was the youngest child of Joseph and Annie Patterson of
Chesley, Ontario. She is pre-deceased by her parents, her four
brothers and her beloved husband, Allan. She was the devoted mother
of David Swann (Joan Spowart), Judy Swann (Eric Tolton) and Michael
Swann (Edith Matay-Swann), and a loving grandmother to Heather Swann,
Cheryl Wilson (Joshua Wilson), Arwen Tolton, Graeme Tolton
(PatriciaTolton) and Trevor Swann. She was also the great grandmother
of Daniel, Nicholas and Julia. Her grandchildren and great
grandchildren brought sunshine to her life.
Before illness overshadowed their lives, Wilma and Allan traveled
extensively. Their travels took them from Fiji to Yellowknife; not
bad for a country girl from Chesley! Wilma was a master of sewing
clothes, and the baker of "the best ever" apple pies and (to Graeme's
delight) date squares.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Saturday,
January 7, 2012, from 11a.m - 1p.m., at the George Darte Funeral Home,
585 Carlton St., St Catharines, followed by a funeral service at 1
p.m.
Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.dartefuneralhome.com.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the
Heart & Stroke Foundation.
