Obituary of Williamina Farmer
FARMER, Williamina "Betty" (Ritchie)-
Has peacefully joined her husband Charles who she was married to for 58 years.
She leaves behind her son Morris (Judy), daughter Madeline (Larry) Blanchfield, sister Madeline (John) Scott, brother Jimmy (the late Trudy) Ritchie, grandchildren Sarah and Janet (Terry) Visser, niece Maureen Flagnotti and nephew Steve Ritchie. She also leaves behind an extended family: Corey, Kristen and dear little Madi who will miss her very much. Predeceased by her sister Margaret Ritchie.
Her life started August 21, 1923 in Kirkaldy, Scotland where she met the love of her life and started a family. She brought her brood over to Canada in 1955 where she built a home for her husband and kids. She was a stay-at-home mom who cooked and cleaned all her life, even right to the end. It would be remiss of me not to mention her other children (dogs) Shammy, Rebel, Sooki, Boomer and Sandy.
Betty's life was simple and that was the way she wanted to go. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
