Obituary of Zofia Dzialo
Zofia Dzialo, née Pająk, was born in Poland on March 11, 1956 where rural upbringing taught her to be strong, resilient, and how to care for many. She learned some of her best recipes as they were passed down through generations of family traditions, and she shared them with nurturing love in abundance.
She married her soul mate who loved her everlastingly and opened the world to her. Together with their three children they immigrated to Canada, and henceforth traveled at every opportunity they had. Whether it was a weekend camping trip or a two-week road trip across the continent, Zofia loved exploring new places with her family and friends, admiring the natural wonders of our Earth, and savoring every sunset.
At home she prudently tended to her floral and vegetable gardens, meticulously curated family traditions throughout the seasons, and warmly opened her home for regularly hosted dinner parties and get-togethers with friends. She was cherished in her community, devout in her Catholic faith, and a pillar of love in her family.
After a valiant battle with cancer, Zofia passed away with her loving family by her side on December 14, 2018 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 62. Beloved wife of Jan, and mother of loving children Slawomir (Irene) Dzialo, Agnieszka Dzialo, Magdalena (David) Balian, Babcia of Emily Dzialo, sister of Malgorzata Lipa with her family, Tadeusz Pajak, Kazimierz Pajak with family, Andrej Pajak with family. She leaves behind many cousins in Poland and friends in Canada, Poland and United States.
