It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Annie Smith, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 with her cherished family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Joseph Smith, her son-in-law Rene Audette, her brother Chick and her sister Cathy. Proud mother of Joseph (Carol), Irene Audette and Mary (Peter) Kelly. Devoted Granny to Rene (Jen), Cheryl (Rick), Kevin (Lindsay), Christopher, and Samantha. Great-Granny to William, Fiona, Sammy, and Rachael. Annie will be fondly missed by her nieces, nephews and family in Scotland. Annie worked for many years as a caretaker at City Hall in St. Catharines. She was the first female employee of Local CUPE150. The family wishes to thank the staff at Ina Grafton for their tremendous care while looking after our mum. Also, thank you the emergency room staff at NHS-St. Catharines. In keeping with Annie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, January 29 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. A Funeral Service for Annie will follow in the funeral home ceremony room on Tuesday at 12 p.m., followed by a reception in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice
