Obituary of Katharine Kobylecky
KOBYLECKY, Katharine
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Mykola (1979). Loving Mother of Anna (Sam), Mary (Stephen), Michael (Maria) and Grandmother to Nicholai (Eliza), Elizabeth and Alexandra. She will be dearly missed by her family in Ukraine.
Katharine left her homeland at the age of 14 and lived through many challenges during WWII. She immigrated to Canada from England with her husband and became active in the Ukrainian community and Church. Katharine and her husband were recognized as leaders in the Ukrainian community. Her love of Ukrainian embroidery brought joy to many and her works still adorn our church to this day.
The family would like to thank the Staff at the Pioneer Elder Care and other care givers through the years. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Panachyda being held at 8 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be held at Sts.
