JOHNSTON, Dorothy "Dorie" Marie

Peacefully in her sleep on Feb 22, 2019, in her 64th year. Predeceased by her parents Fraser and Dorothy, brothers Thomas and Theodore. Dorie is survived by her son Ryan, sisters Margaret Craig (Albert), Andreeanna Gualtieri, Mary Wiebe (Mathew), brothers Fraser (Dawnn), Timothy, Christopher (Laurie), Anthony, and numerous nieces & nephews. Dorie had fought a courageous battle with severe disabilities for the last few years. The family thanks the staff of Heidehof Home for their loving care, support and understanding through these trying times. A lifelong resident of St. Catharines, she had made innumerable friendships throughout her hospitality career with her captivating personality, dry humour and eversharp wit. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, February 25, 2019, from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. A Funeral Service for Dorie will be held in the funeral home’s ceremony room on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Niagara Falls Humane Society would be appreciated.
