Obituary of Audrey Edna Presto
PRESTO, Audrey Edna (Morningstar) - Passed peacefully on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at Garden City Manor at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Tony Presto, they were married for over 50 years. Cherished mother of Anthony, the late Patricia, Laurie Ann (Larry), Toni Allison (Eduard) and Noel (Stephanie). Loving grandmother of Jessica, Nahum and William and great grandmother to Kezia. Audrey was predeceased by most of her in-laws. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Jennie and Jacki. Audrey was very close to her siblings and always enjoyed spending time with them and sharing memories. She was predeceased by her brothers Orlan, Allen and David. Audrey will be missed by her siblings Alma, Marietta and Leroy. Sadly, Mom and her eldest sister Dorothy passed peacefully within 12 hours of each other. Our Mom was an enthusiastic gardener with a love for poppies, tulips and roses. She took pride in her garden and found it a source of serenity as well as a place to meet many admiring people who would stop to talk as they were passing by. She was a wonderful cook and her fruit pies were a special treat. As teenagers, many of our friends would gather in the kitchen at our house. It seemed like the tea kettle was always on. Mom had a great laugh and sense of fun. We loved spending time with her and including her in some of our adventures. After her children were grown, Audrey worked as a custodian for the DSBN until her retirement. We spent many cherished hours with her at Garden City Manor. We would gather to colour and talk and simply be with her in her later years. Thank you to Dr. C.D. Whitty for years of great care. Our family would like to thank Dr. D. Wan and the Staff at Garden City Manor for their compassionate care. Thank you to Dr. S. Zandi and the Staff at NHS, St. Catharines General for their wonderful care. " Bye mom, love you" " Love you too" Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Audrey's Life will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St.Catharines on Saturday, April 13th at 12p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations to a Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
