CECE, Attilio Unexpectedly, but peacefully with his family by his side Attilio passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the age of 88. Attilio has been reunited with his beloved wife Virginia (1986), his dear brothers Luigi, Orlando and his cherished sister Gentilina. Loving father of Orlandina and Denise (Jerry) Celetti. Proud Scio Scio of Julia. Attilio is survived by his sisters Rosina (Paolo) Moretti of St. Catharines, Iolanda of Italy, brothers-in-law Carmine and Andrea (Giuseppina), sister-in-law Milena, as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Attilio was a long time employee of the City of St. Catharines, and a founding member of Club Roma. Proud son of La Rocca, fierce survivor of a World War II work camp, builder of a new life in Canada, devoted family man, traveler, feared Facer Street Cingione player, vegetable gardener, Remy Martin connoisseur, and wicked cook: we will miss your intense love of life, your generosity, your grand voice, that sparkle in your eye and all the love you gave us. Attilio's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
