Ursula Elisabeth Gottschick

1921 - 2019

Passed away peacefully on May 23, 2019, surrounded by family, in Northland Pointe, Port Colborne at the age of 97. Beloved and devoted wife of the late John Gottschick. Proud and loving mom to daughters Romi (the late Wolfgang) Wagner, Heidi (Larry) Dolph, Evi (Roger) Van Klingeren, and son Tim (Susan) Gottschick. Much loved and cherished Oma to Robert (Laura) Wagner, Rebecca (Kevin) Kuechler, Stephanie (Mike Bowers) Dolph, Stephen Dolph, Gina Mitas, Ben (Cheryl) Van Klingeren, Mona (David) Morse, and Jordan Gottschick. Wonderful Great-Oma to Justin and Charlotte Kuechler, Ellarose and Jackson Bowers, Caleb Mitas, Jacob and Braden Van Klingeren, Kayla and Gabriella Morse. A special thank you to all the staff of Northland Pointe for their loving care and concern over many years.

Ursula was born December 11, 1921 in Gotha, Germany, and became a nurse. Following World War II, she emigrated to Canada to start a new chapter in her life, where she met John. They married in 1954 and had 4 children. Together with her husband, they opened John’s Delicatessen in Welland. Ursula was a strong-willed cancer survivor who loved her family and friends, her faith and adventurous travels. Ursula and family enjoyed many years in Long Beach, Ontario, and Fort Myers, Florida. She was a shining example to “never give up.”
