Obituary of George Bourolias
George Bourolias:
Passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at the Port Colborne Palliative Care Centre with his family by his side at the age of 83.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Angie (Lambrinos) Bourolias, his sister in Greece Pota (Bourolias) Kokkinakos and husband Jimmy, Sister-in-laws Voula, Popi and Helen. Loved by all his nieces and nephews in Greece and Canada and pre-deceased by his parents and three brothers Nick, Dino and John.
George was born and raised in Amykle Greece the son of Ilias and Katerini Bourolias and was a true Spartan. In 1957 he immigrated to Canada and began his cross-country journey working and exploring throughout the country.
George was a lover of books, fine wine, scotch, arguing politics and religion. He was a believer in justice and equality and would state that unfairness in the world was “Jambalaya” a fancy word for BS! He loved to socialize with friends and family and prepare beautiful meals in his home. His favourite past-time was playing cards with his family and friends, and he loved to share stories of history which he was very knowledgeable of. He was fond of nature and animals and loved to feed the birds and the squirrels on his walks through the park.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street. St. Catharines, ON L2M 4Y1 on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 from 2-6pm. At George's request there will be no service. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Niagara Health Foundation Palliative Care Port Colborne.
