Obituary of Mary Tkatchuk

TKATCHUK, Mary (nee Kosar)

On June 2, 2019, in her 92nd year, Mary passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Michael, who predeceased her in 2006. Loved dearly by her children, Rosemary Martin (Michael) and Judy Sobchak (Gary), and five grandchildren, Brandon, Britney (Rob), Ali (Matt), Lauren and Victoria. She will also be missed by her brother Frank Kosar (Murielle and family) and her late sister Ann.

Mary built her life around family and relationships with others. She was an inspiration who left her strength, wisdom, humour and passion for life with us all. Mary embraced every aspect of life and was a woman born ahead of her time. We are lucky to have had such an amazing woman for so long as our mother and grandmother, who showed us by example, the values of life. Even though she is no longer with us, her dynamic spirit will remain. Forever loved, xxxox. Thank you to the management and staff at Henley House who did more than just care for her.

In accordance with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME (905) 937-4444. A Funeral Service will take place at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 14 Rolls Ave., St. Catharines, on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow the Service at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St., St. Catharines. Donations can be made to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church.
