It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ernesto Natale on June 19, 2019. He is survived by his wife Felicia (nee Nardone) and his sister Maria who resides in Argentina. Ernesto will be greatly missed by his children, Errico (Beth), Filomena Schreiner, Maria (Mike) Sullivan and Lucia Hunt. Grampa will also be missed by grandchildren Darryl, Rachel (Patrick) Beedling, Laurel, Chiara, JT, Makiah, Katie, Erika, Felicia and Olivia as well as his great-granddaughter, Nora.

Ernesto was born in 1932 in the small town of Fossacesia in the province of Chieti which is in the Abruzzo region of Italy. He was proud of his Italian heritage. Growing up in a hard-working family, he and his new bride Felicia, grudgingly left his village in 1957 for a new life in Canada. Ernesto had a quiet yet playful manner which won him many friends in his adopted country. A carpenter for many years in Niagara, he would proudly point out the homes and structures he had built. Ernesto also enjoyed participating in the Club Roma choir for the last 25 years and will be missed by his choir colleagues, and all who knew him.

Many thanks to his care-givers at the Heidehof Home for the Aged whose compassion brightened his time there. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines, on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home ceremony room on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11 am followed by a Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
