Dear Mr. Borbath, I just found out about Mrs. Borbath's passing and I am deeply saddened. She, and you, are some of the best teachers that I have ever had. I'm 38 now and the memories from grade 7 and 8 (1995-1997) at St. Ann I hold dear. You were both amazing teachers and mentors. - Agata Tarkowski

Mr. Borbath. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I was looking up Mrs. Borbath because I wanted to send her a message of thanks. I am 41 years old now and you were both my teachers at St Denis in 1992. I got myself into some trouble with some kids that year even though it wasn’t who I was. Mrs. borbath made it her mission to know that she saw me and that I wasn’t like those friends. It always stuck with me. It takes so little to change people’s lives. I went on to get the most improved student award in grade 8 and finished high school a year and a half early. I graduated university at 21 and got my masters degree in education and became a high school teacher. All these years later and I want to thank you both. You were funny and gregarious and she was stern and steady and I needed both in my life. She told me about being robbed at gun point on a beach in Jamaica and I have never forgotten (I see it’s in your poem) Thanks for helping that young girl find her way. Xxoo

Mr. John Borbath - Your word, which I had not seen before now, have moved me to add this...
It is with sadness of heart, and grief of my character that I write this to you; memories of a wonderful, and magical time in my teen years. I am 54 years old now, an adult by most standards. I became a music composer of all things!. I also am an It specialist with my own business at home helping low income folks, and folks on fixed incomes afford computers and repairs. Often times donating my time and expertise for gratis.
But this is about Ada. Most importantly, who she was to me, and to most of us back in those special days. She was a tough cookie on me and a few others, John. Ada never let ANYONE who needed to be kept in her eye's view, out of sight. She was as sharp as a tack and we ALL knew it. Now, we look back, and we can ALL love her for it. You two were the brightest light for all of us students, The "Twit Twats" that we were. You made us laugh, and she made us think and study. IN math she set up a game she called the "Stock Market Game" and wow, we LOVED that class more than any other, maybe even as much as shop class, seriously! We loved you both; and our hearts go out to you for the loss of such a magnificent human being as she always was, your wife.
Time does heal, and the one, wonderful thing about the continuance of life John, is that memories remain in the minds and hearts of ALL those of whom she touched. I, myself, was absolutely one of those she touched. I want you to know that. You both were bright lights for so, so may of us. I Thank you for that, sincerely. I thank you BOTH for that to be sure.
Listen, BE WELL! And cherish those memories I mentioned, and allow the time to heal because that is exactly what time is for. Friends and family for love, memories for sentiment, and to put a smile on our faces when nothing else will, and time; time is there for healing. Life is forever finite, but we do not have to allow it to be difficult. As long as we all continue to honour one another's achievements. You words were/are beautiful and fitting. They come from a moved soul. It is easy to see this. My heart goes out to you.
Be well, and may the joy and wonder of the Universe fill your heart forever. I would love to connect with you John. I simply can't ever forget you, so, might as well keep it going!.
Dennis Barch - d_tjb@hotmail.com, St Catharines, but, now in Ottawa. (on facebook under 'Denny Barch', please connect if possible Mr. John Borbath) All of my kindest and most sincere regards, ALL of them, to you. Db

She was a wonderful person and a wonderful teacher who shaped the minds of many students. John I am shocked and saddened to hear of Ada's passing. We had been classmates from Grade 6 to Grade 13. Then there were the growing years of senior softball that you too were a part of. My prayers are with you and the rest of the family. Take some comfort in knowing how well thought of Ada was in her life.

Dear Mr. Borbath,
Miss Kerklaan taught me how to play basketball and volleyball in grade 8 at St. Anthony's School. I continued to play throughout highschool loving the sports but I bet if I played one-on-one in basketball against Ada, she would probably whip me!! We were also lucky enough to watch Miss Kerklaan fall in love with a charming fellow co-teacher named Mr. Borbath. As students and quite impressionable at the time, we kind of felt responsible as match makers for the two of you!!! God Bless Ada for being a role model for women and men alike!
Fondly,
Marilyn
