Obituary of Audrey McCabe
McCabe, Audrey (nee Vincent) passed away peacefully on the 14th March, 2012 in her 91st year. Audrey will be forever missed by Willis, her beloved husband and companion of 67 and a half years. Treasured mother of six sons, Max (Vera) St. Catharines, George (Jeanette) Chapleau, ON, Ron (Pat) St. Catharines, Dave (Debbie) St. Catharines, Glenn (Kelly) Sunridge, ON, and six daughters, Linda Traverse (Chesley) Corner Brook, NF, Phyllis Ferry (Len) Thorold, Irene Clarke (Jack) Edmonton, AB, Judy Richard (Jamie) Niagara on the Lake, Dee Patterson (Morgan) St. Catharines. Predeceased by son Clyde in 1975 and daughter Shirley 1949. Also survived by 28 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren , 2 Great Great Grandchildren and sister Doris Boland, St. John†™s, NF. Audrey was born in Newtown, Bonavista Bay, NF, daughter of George and Cecelia Vincent . Known affectionately as Mom and/or Nan, she provided us with the greatest gifts , her strength, love and devotion for her very large extended family and she will be sadly missed by all. We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Garden City Manor for the care and compassion provided during the past six months. The family will be receiving friends at George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Friday the 16th of March, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Audrey's life will be held in the chapel at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday the 17th day of March, 2012 followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by her family.
