I was sadden on hearing of Louannes' passing on our return from Europe. Condolences to the whole family. I have known Louanne since the start of her career and always found her to be compassionate, endearing, a cop's cop, and a wonderful person who always made time for family and friends. She was quite the organizer and surrounded herself with great people.
She will be truly missed by all of her family and friends.

Dr. Fred and Gretchen Walsh posted a condolence
Saturday, August 24, 2019
Dear Ken, Marina and the Campbell-Schenck Families:
It is very hard to come up with words of condolence that have not been used by so many in published tributes to Louanne, Gretchen and my (Fred) wonderful niece. We, of course, have known her since her birth, and all the way up through childhood, adolescence, adulthood, the police department career, retirement and marriage to Ken (Jasper) and rightly embracing his children as her own. The strongest word that I can come up with is the word ‘FAMILY’.
Ken and Louanne and her siblings (plus spouses) seemed inseparable. John (Donna), Elizabeth (Rob), and Joseph (Tracey) did ever so much together. One example was a routine Sunday gathering for brunch at Mom Marina and Dad John’s home after Mass at Star of the Sea. It was collaborative with preparation and cleanup, and often included Bishop (cousin) Jack O’Mara. It intensified after Dad John’s passing August 13th 2015. Marina loved and appreciated it.
Louanne was the driving force organizer behind the wonderful June 14th“cousins’ reunion” in St. Catharines when our son Jim (California) came to town after his 41st H.S. reunion in Toronto.
Many mourners have praised Louanne’s community and church activism, which is so revealing.
And amazingly, Louanne lived just long enough to exchange “Good-byes” with her dear family as they kept vigil over her.
We and our family were sorry to hear of her untimely death and reiterate the comments of others that she will never be forgotten. And may God bless her and all of us who mourn.
I will conclude with the poem “I'm Free”, that I believe would reflect Louanne’s hope for us all. This poem is attributed to various authors and is also known by several different titles.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Thinking of all of Louanne's friends and family and former co-workers, during this sad and difficult time. I met Louanne many years ago when she was a customer at the dog grooming place I worked at. I used to groom her dog and had the pleasure of meeting her and enjoyed her visits when she would pop in just to say hello to us on occasion. Cherish the memories that each of you have made with Louanne, and hold them close to your heart. A part of her lives on in each and every one of you . Rest In Peace Louanne
