Obituary of Jude Hopkins
HOPKINS, Judith (Jude) Ethel
With deep love and much sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our wife and mother on October 10, 2019 at the age of 63. Born October 26, 1955 in Noranda, Quebec. Beloved wife of Martin Hopkins. Loving mother of Martin Hopkins Jr., Rose Hopkins (Joseph Enaje) and cherished granny of her little "poppet," Zelda. Predeceased by her father William Hall, mother Frances (MacIntyre) Nesbitt (2011), sisters Deborah (2003) and Gail (2010) Survived by sisters Patricia (Michelle) and Nancy (William). She will be fondly remembered by her relatives and friends and their families. Jude loved all things British, especially Dame Judy Dench. Her irreverent sense of humour and quirky personality left an impression on everyone she met. Palliative care nurse by day and country singer by night, she was an avid reader and loved horror books and movies. She loved her dogs, her cottage and collection of unique antiques, but she especially loved her children. We will sing a song and raise a glass to the woman who danced to the beat of her own drummer, our Jude. Thanks to the Emergency crews, especially Carolyn, who went above and beyond. Also, thank you to Jude's dear friend Cathy for her continued love and care. Our family will be welcoming visitors on Friday, October 18 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. A funeral service will follow visitation at 12 p.m. In memory of Jude, donations may be given to the Salvation Army or Wellspring Niagara.
