Obituary of William Morrison Caton
CATON, William Morrison (Bill) -Passed away on Friday March 2nd 2012 at the Port Colborne General Hospital in his 88th year. Predeceased by his late wife Joan (Belford) 1970 and Lynda (Ely) 2000. Loving father of Patricia Austin and Catherine Caton. Special stepfather of Frank (Susanne) Ely and John Ely. Cherished grandfather of Tanya Austin -White (Tony), Tasha Austin, James, Joel and Jordin Ely, Danny and Jane Ely. Great grandfather of Daxton William White. Predeceased by his siblings Frances, Isobel, John, Ted, Jean and Robert. He will be sadly missed by his granddogs Winston and Cleo. Bill was a World War 2 Veteran who served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was the president of Lubrizol of Canada in Niagara Falls and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 350, Port Dalhousie for 62 years. For many years Bill was director with the Niagara Falls Club, Niagara District Transportation Club, Lion's Club, Boy's and Girls Club of Niagara, Advisory Board of Niagara College and a member of the Port Dalhousie Municipal Council. A sincere thank you to the staff at the Port Colborne General Hospital for all their acts of kindness and compassion.The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Sunday from 2-4p.m. A Celebration of Bill's Life will take place on Monday at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial at St. John's Cemetery in Port Dalhousie to follow. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
