Obituary of Maria Kossilou

KOSSILOU, Maria Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband Konstantinos (1976). Loving mother to her four children: Ourania (Dennis) Contonis, Athanase (Gina) Kossilos, Nick (Toula) Kossilos, Elia (Despina) Kossilos. Devoted and proud Yia Yia (Grandmother) to her grandchildren: Sam (Sally) Contonis, Marie Kossilos, Constantine Kossilos, Maria (John Paul) Luisi, Gus (Roula) Kossilos, Maria (Andy) Xeros, Kosta (Konstantina) Kossilos. Great-Yia Yia (great-grandmother) of Mia & Dante Contonis, Zoe & Sophia Kossilos, Joelle Kossilos, Stella Xeros. Maria will be remembered for her devotion to her family. Nothing was more important to her than being with her family. She was a very proud mother and was happiest when she was around all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, December 22 from 3-8 p.m. A Funeral for Maria will be held at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara St., St. Catharines on Monday, December 23 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church.
