WITOSKI, Margaret Mary (nee Calcott)

Passed peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2019 in her 96th year. Predeceased by her husband Walter. Loving mother of Patrick (Karen) of St. Catharines, Cheryl (Stephen) of Ottawa, and Tim (Mary) of Victoria, B.C. Cherished grandmother of Christopher (Jessica), Jacqueline (Chris), Ariana (Cameron), Fiona, Meredith and Sydney. Doting great-grandmother of Dylan, Ella and Lily. She is also survived by her brother Phil of St. Catharines, predeceased by brothers Al and Lorne and sister Helen.

A graduate of St. Catharines Collegiate Institute, in her early years Margaret worked as a stenographer at the Empire Rug Mill before marrying Walter, the love of her life. She devoted herself to motherhood and providing a loving and caring home life for her family. For this her children are forever grateful. Marg was known to enjoy a good game of bingo, bridge and socializing at her regular ladies’ bridge nights. She was also an active member of St. Catharines Cathedral.

The family is grateful to the Heatherwood Retirement residence where she spent her last 7 years. A special shout out to the personal support, kitchen and dining staff who did their best to comfort and care for Margaret and the emergency staff at Niagara Health, St. Catharines.

A celebration of life will take place at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines at a later date. If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Hospice Niagara or a charity of your choice.
