Obituary of Eleanor May Maracle
MARACLE, Eleanor "Ellie" May (nee Smith)
Passed away peacefully on February 24, 2012, surrounded by family and friends, at the Hamilton General Hospital in her 61st year. Ellie was born September 4, 1951, in Port Colborne, Ontario, the Daughter of Joan Gray and Victor Smith. She is survived by six children. Daughter, Jennifer Broughton; Sons, George Firth (Michelle Bolus), Bryon Ballentyne, Normand Blais, Jamie Broughton and Randy Hardman. She was "Nana" to grandchildren Megan Costerus, Daniel Broughton, Alana Purdy, Cody Firth, Madison Firth, Peyton Ballantyne, Sabastian Blais, Randy Hardman Jr., Chris Hardman, Tyler Hardman and Kameron Hardman, as well as great grandchildren Noah Foster and Claire Sims. She will also be missed by her long term friend Carl Roach. She was an animal lover like no other. She will live on in the hearts of her "fur babies" as she rests with Bear and Nikki and all lost pets resting on Rainbow Bridge. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday, March 1 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Ellie's Life following in the funeral home chapel at 4:30 p.m. Donations in memory of Ellie may be made at the funeral home.
